EgoProfessional EgoBoost styler

The EgoBoost styler* is one of the most interesting looking hair stylers I've seen in a long time! Created by EgoProfessional, the EgoBoost is a set of hot curlers that are heated individually, using a device that looks a little bit like a speaker.

Each EgoBoost comes complete with the heating system, a set of 10 curlers in 3 different sizes, and 10 clips to hold them in place.

To get curling, simply pop one of the rollers into the heating system, wait 4 seconds (you'll hear a beep) and then it's ready to use! The soft-touch curlers are designed to heat your hair, rather than your hands, so you have plenty of time to roll them up into hair and secure before they get hot to the touch. Repeat as required, allow them to cool down and then remove.

I've found the EgoBoost system really easy to use. Considering you heat each roller individually, it's surprisingly fast to heat all 10 and get them into your hair. The rollers also haven't burnt my fingers once!

There's a little dot in the centre of each roller which turns red once heated, and returns to black once cool. I've found they need about 15 minutes to cool down properly before removal, and taking them out was pretty easy, although I did get one tangled during one session which needed a bit of patience to remove it!

As someone with fine hair, I've been using these regularly to add some extra root lift, and give me a bigger blow dry. They really do deliver, and although I don't have the time to use them every morning, at the weekends and for nights out, my EgoBoost has become a regular fixture.

The only catch here is the price - EgoBoost retails for just over £130. These are some pretty pricey rollers, but you do feel like you're getting quality. They also have a year's guarantee, so if anything does go wrong, you should be able to get them fixed easily.

Ego Professional are available online via QVC, and Beauty Bay.

What do you think of these crazy looking curlers?

  2. Well is that ever neat! Quite a difference to the usual box of rollers you heat all at once.

  6. This sounds so lovely, but there just wouldn't be enough rollers for my hair, I need at least 25+ as its so thick! It's a great concept though :)
