Bumble and Bumble Straight shampoo and conditioner

Bumble and Bumble are an American company, founded in New York in the 1970s, that make a wide selection of high end hair products. They offer shampoos, conditioners and styling products, with ranges such as 'Straight', 'Surf', 'Curl Minded' and 'Colour Conscious', each targeted at specific hair needs.

The Straight shampoo and conditioner* are designed to help smooth hair, tame frizz, and maintain a straight style. The shampoo is sulfate free (no SLS), but still produces a really good lather, and a tiny bit goes a long way. The conditioner is quite light, but still leaves hair silky soft and with a nice shine.

Both the shampoo and conditioner contain a 'gemstone blend' that helps to loosen hair's natural curls, which is activated with heat, and over time is designed to help increase the manageability of your hair.

As someone with naturally wavy hair, I often straighten it with my trusty GHDs, but find that humidity ruins my straight looks pretty quickly. I've been testing the shampoo and conditioner over a couple of weeks, and have been really impressed. I've found that when I straighten my hair, it stays straight. No random waves creeping back in throughout the day, or massive frizz ball forming on the top of my head.

I was even asked by a friend recently what I was using on my hair as it had remained so smooth, despite the humid weather!

I'm not going to lie, sleek hair doesn't come cheap. The Straight shampoo is £23 for 250ml and the conditioner is £25 for 250ml, so it's definitely a luxury treat. For me, it's a set of products I would definitely repurchase, as I feel like I need to use less heat to keep my straight style, causing less damage to my hair. You can find Straight, along with the other Bumble ranges online and in larger Boots stores.

Have you tried anything from Bumble and Bumble? What are your favourites?

  2. These products sound lovely but I don't know if i'd spend that much on shampoo and conditioner. I'm always so tempted by Bumble and Bumble, though. I've never read any negative about their products.
