Easter inspired nail polish ideas

Easter is one of my favourite times of the year – spring is in the air, there’s a four day weekend and plenty of chocolate floating around. I think we can agree, that’s a pretty good combo.

To get the Easter vibe on your nails, as well as in your tummies, I’ve picked out a few favourite polishes that I think would make the perfect partners this weekend. And if you’re thinking more about the chocolate side of things, this giant Lindt Fashion Bunny* is the solution (it's also half price at the moment - double win). It’s made from 500g of creamy Lindt chocolate and despite being absolutely massive, I have no intention of sharing mine. Ahem.

On to the nails…

Mini eggs are a highlight for me in the run up to Easter (can you tell I like chocolate?) and these speckled effect polishes from Illamasqua and Models Own make it simple to get a mini egg effect on your nails in a choice of different pastel shades. I like to use a couple of shades and alternate fingers for a full on mini egg look.

For perfect pastels, try one of Barry M's new Speedy shades* (there are 9 to choose from) which dry incredibly quickly to a high shine finish. Topshop's nail polishes are also great for pastel shades - I'm currently obsessed with the sherbet orange shade pictured.

Nail effects are a really simple way to get a nail art finish but with minimal effort and my current top pick has to be the new L'Oreal floral polishes which contain a mix of confetti effect pieces and mini flowers. This orange shade looks great worn over the top of a pastel orange polish, just make sure to have a cocktail stick handy for placing the flowers as they can be a bit tricky to do with the brush.

What are your favourite shades for spring?
