Lisa Shepherd Colour Bar - colour in under 1 hour

Lisa Shepherd hair salons have launched a colour service with a difference. Their new Colour Bar offers you a way to get your dye job done, without spending hours in the chair or a fortune at the salon.

There are 6 services on offer that range from between £15 and £30. They promise a quality service and that you’ll be done within an hour – making it the perfect lunch break treat.

The difference with the colour bar is that instead of a salon blow dry at the end of the appointment, you style your hair yourself with the wide range of products and hair dryers provided. You’ll need to bring your own brush for hygiene reasons, but if you forget, they have a fab range available to buy.

You can choose between:
Root Rage £15 – a quick root top up just where it’s needed
Glossy Locks £20 – a semi-permanent all over dye that adds serious shine
Brighter Lights £25 – 6 face framing highlights
Colour Camo £15 – aimed at the gents to help hide greys
Catwalk Colour £25 – for more colourful options, pastels and subtle ombres
Fast Track to Fabulous £30 – a Glossy Locks treatment with a professional blow dry at the end

I popped along in my lunch break to test out the service and see if it was really as speedy as they said! After a quick consultation, I decided to have the Glossy Locks treatment with a blow dry. This is a semi-permanent dye that adds a richness to colour.

Jason applied the agreed rich copper colour and about 20 minutes later I had the colour rinsed off and was moved over to the blow dry station. 10 minutes later my hair was looking super shiny, and the colour looked really rich and vibrant.

My hair after the Colour Bar appointment

My whole appointment lasted just under 50 minutes, which is seriously impressive for a full head of colour. I didn't walk out feeling particularly relaxed, and don't expect a luxury head massage with your shampoo, but it's perfect for those days when you just need to be in and out. I love the concept of the colour bar and they really do deliver against their one hour promise. It’s hard to find a place for a reasonably priced colour treatment, especially in London and I know that this will be incredibly popular.

Like all colour services, you’ll need a patch test 24-48 hours beforehand to ensure no sensitivity to the dyes, but other than that, it’s a really quick, easy to use service and one I’ll definitely be going back again for.

What do you think of the Colour Bar?

*My appointment was provided free of charge for review purposes, but I'm already planning my next visit!

  1. In theory it sounds like a good idea but I had a bad experience here with my highlights, they missed chunks of my hair (this was a whole head)! I also am not keen on blowdrying my own hair, I'd prefer to pay more and have a bit more luxury.

  2. Great idea and prices though I wonder how much it would be for to have my hair done? I always get totally ripped off

    1. The colour bar services are all a fixed price, so should be the same as these ones. If you need something more detailed it will be a bit more. Give them a call, they are really helpful :) x
