BIOeffect EGF serum review

I received a tiny bottle of BIOeffect EGF serum in my Latest in Beauty advent calendar at Christmas. I'd never heard of it before, and was intruiged to find out a bit more about it.

BIOeffect is billed as a 'next-generation anti-ageing serum' that works by encouraging your skin to repair its own cells.

The bottle is actually teeny tiny - this makes it look so much bigger than it is!

They say: ' Its key ingredient is Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), a substance which occurs naturally in human skin and which has the ability to speed up the rate of cell turnover within the skin. Regular, once or twice daily use of BIOEFFECT EGF Serum...gives visible dramatic improvements within weeks.'

This all sounded very 'sciency' so I set about giving it a test to see if it lived up to its claims.

Now, before I go any further, I must warn you that this product is PRICEY. There is a reason that they only included a tiny 3ml sample in the advent calendar. 15ml of this baby retails at a whopping £125. Now for that price, I was expecting it to turn back time. Literally, I wanted to be like Cher.

I've used this product at night-time for just over a week now. You only need 1-2 drops (thank god) and that covers my entire face. It has a slightly oily texture to it, so I'm not sure how I would feel using this in the morning before applying my makeup.

It pains me to say it, but when I wake up, my skin looks fantastic. Like I've had 10 hours sleep and eaten salmon for a month. I really wish it didn't as the price just isn't something I could ever justify spending on a serum. That said, I will be using every last drop of this bottle and then wishing I was rich so that I could buy a big one!

Have you ever tried BIOeffect? What are your thoughts on the price?

  5. Do you know what, I have this and i have not even tried it! I actually put it on my blog sale. I think I need to give it a try, though if I like it, its a LOT to shell out for a serum. Sigh...the highs and lows of beauty! xx
