When you think of The Body Shop, it’s probably about one of their fab smelling body butters or a great bath product, right? Well my absolute favourite of theirs is something that not many people talk about and I think that needs to change. So let me introduce you to The Body Shop makeup brushes.
Now, makeup brushes probably aren’t high on your list of things to buy from The Body Shop, but these are super soft, long wearing and in my mind, rival a lot of the more expensive brands. There are 13 brushes in the range to choose from, and cover everything from powder to foundation and eyes to lips.
All of the brushes are made with cruelty-free synthetic fibres and are seriously soft against the skin. I use their eye shadow brush daily (I have about 3 of these for different shades!) and it’s great for applying a wash of colour across the lid, or using the flat end to apply a bit of a darker shade to the eye crease.
Another favourite of mine is the larger Blusher Brush. It’s the perfect size for dusting blusher over the apples of your cheeks and also works really well with powder highlighters.
The brushes range in prices from £9 for the eye shadow brush up to £16 for the Slanted Kabuki Brush, however there are often special brush kits available to buy at a massively reduced price. Make sure you look out for these in the run up to Christmas – last year I was able to get 8 brushes for just £45 which was almost half the cost of buying them individually. They also wear really well. I’ve been using a set of brushes for over a year now and despite daily use and regular washing, the bristles are still in great shape, with no signs of shedding.
I’d love to see a few more brushes added to The Body Shop range – it’d be great to have a nice fluffy buffing brush and maybe an angled face brush to help create a soft contoured look.
You can find the full Body Shop makeup brush range both online and in store – why not pick one up next time you’re visiting and give them a try!
