My top products of 2013

2013 has been such a fun year, and I've tried many, many products over the past 12 months. I've given some careful consideration over the past few weeks about which of these were going to make the top products of the year list. I've chosen 14 - all of which have been firm favourites, and repeat purchases.

Hair:
Philip Kingsley Flaky, Itchy Scalp shampoo - I realised at the start of the year that I'm sensitive to SLS, the ingredient in most shampoos that makes them foam. Since then, I've been regularly using this Philip Kingsley shampoo, and haven't had any issues at all with my scalp. It's something I would definitely recommend trying if you find that you're not getting on with your regular shampoo.

Bumble and Bumble Straight conditioner* - this conditioner has been a regular favourite of mine over the past 6 months. It helps to tame frizz, and also makes my naturally wavy hair much easier to straighten and smooth when styling. It's pricey, but definitely something I wouldn't be without!

Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment - I've tried a lot of hair oils and serums this year, but my heart still belongs to Macadamia. It's great for smoothing hair, helps it to dry quicker and gives a lovely shine. The smell is also amazing!

Skincare:
Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm - a repeat purchase, I use this as my night-time cleanser most evenings. It's a rich cleansing balm that removes make up, and leaves skin feeling rich and nourished, but without feeling greasy.

REN Hydra Calm Moisturiser - great for my slightly sensitive skin, I use this daily and it offers good hydration, without making skin feel oily. For me, this acts as the perfect base to apply my make-up to, as it absorbs quickly, but still leaves skin feeling soft.

Aromatherapy Associates Rose Hydrating Mask - my hero face mask, this is amazing for anyone with dry or dehydrated skin. It's full of aloe vera and hyaluronic acid, and is great any time of year.

REN Rose Otto bath oil* - the ultimate bath time treat, this will not only give you lovely soft skin, but perfumes the entire bathroom with it's beautiful rose scent. I treat myself to a bath with this oil when I really want to relax and pamper myself.

Make-up:
Urban Decay Naked 3* - this might be the new kid on the block, but it's definitely captured my heart! 12 rose gold themed shades, with the usual high quality Urban Decay pigmentation. I've been using this daily since I received it and can't see myself putting it down any time soon!

Real Techniques brushes - I've recently reviewed a selection of these brushes and can't recommend them highly enough! Cruelty-free and at an affordable price, I honestly prefer these to some of the more expensive ones I have in my brush collection. Make sure you check out the buffing brush and stippling brush, which are two brushes I can't live without!

Liz Earle cream blusher* - the Liz Earle makeup collection launched in 2013, and I have to say, has been a bit hit in my books. Their cream blushers are probably my favourite things they've released so far, and I highly recommend grabbing yourself one next time you're in John Lewis. They're long-lasting, easy to blend and in a range of very natural colours.

DHC liquid liner - I've gone through several of these liner pens this year and also converted a few friends to them after raving about them. A felt-pen style liner, they're easy to apply and once dry, won't budge all day. The only downside for me is that they are online only at the moment, but I'm hoping that in 2014, DHC will launch into more UK stores, with more of their product lines.

Ciate nail kits - Ciate have an impressive range of nail polishes, but what really gets me excited is the nail kits they bring out at regular intervals throughout the year. They've released everything from sequins to a chalkboard effect, and even a feather manicure. I think I've bought one of each, and love the variety and unusual effects you can create on your nails.

Kiko eyeshadow sticks* - I recently reviewed these and compared them to the far more expensive, By Terry shadow sticks that I also love. Everything i've tried so far from Kiko has been great, and I can see my collection of these creamy, long-lasting shadow sticks growing larger throughout 2014.

Perfume:
Marc Jacobs Dot - Marc Jacobs perfumes are some of my favourites and out of all of them, I think Dot just pips the top spot. The fruity fragrance always lifts my moods when I wear it, and the cute ladybird inspired bottle livens up my dressing table.

  10. I'm so jealous that everybody seems to have the Naked 3 palette! I wasn't interested in it at all before it came out or even after but then something just clicked and now I'm desperate for it and have missed the opportunity to ask for it for Christmas :(
