New Year, New Spending Ban

As the new year fast approaches, I'm giving a lot of thought to my new year resolutions. One of these is going to be to save more money. "013 has been a bit of an indulgent year for me and I've treated myself to a lot of lovely things. 2014 is going to be a big year for me as I'm turning 30 in a few months and I've decided to try to save up some money to (hopefully) buy myself a DSLR camera as a birthday gift to myself.

I'm going to be attempting a big spending ban in order to achieve my goal so I'll be cutting right back on beauty purchases, new clothes and expensive lunches at work - no more daily trips to Itsu!

There are a couple of days off I'm planning, the main one being a trip to Professional Beauty in February, but i'm keen to get my spending back under control and really only buy things that I need, not that I convince myself I 'NEED'!

I'll be keeping you updated on how I get on with my spending ban, and my other new year resolutions, and if you're planning a spending ban for the new year, let me know - I've found it much easier with a group of people to tweet/email when you get close to cheating!

  1. I think that is a great idea and I've been saving up for a DSLR for a while now so no spending for me for a while!

  2. I'm also doing a ban, I'll keep you on the straight and narrow ;)

  3. I'm doing a spending ban as well starting the 1st! I'm mainly doing it because I truly need nothing. Of course, I'll buy things I totally run out of, but nothing I just want.

  4. I'm going to be doing the same in 2014 hopefully, I'm going to be starting Uni in September so I need some money for that. Hopefully I can manage to curb some of my spending habbits!

  5. Great idea.. and all the best to you! :)
I'll be cutting my spending as of the 1st too.
