Vitamin C Skincare - get glowing skin

We’ve all been there. One too many late nights, early mornings and a somewhat exhausted feeling. Out comes the Berrocca and 20 minutes later you’re *hopefully* feeling a bit perkier and ready to get on with your day (Berrocca wee issues aside).

Vitamin C has long been hailed as a hero supplement and it’s great at offering antioxidant protection, helping to protect your cells and keep them healthy. But the benefits don’t just stop internally – when used effectively in skincare, vitamin C can help boost radiance, protect against potentially damaging free radicals and reduce inflammation and irritation in the skin. Basically it’s an all-round hero!

There are some great skincare ranges on the market that are packed full of vitamin C goodness, so I’ve selected two of my favourites that I think you’ll love.

vitamin c based skincare from the Body Shop and Ole Henriksen
Ole Henricksen Truth Serum* – when I first started using this serum, I noticed an improvement in my skin in a matter of days. It helps to add radiance, support your skin’s natural collagen production and gets to work on fine lines. It’s oil-free, paraben free and contains sodium hyaluronate to help add moisture to the skin. I like to use this underneath my moisturiser both in the morning and at night, especially on days when I feel like it need that extra boost. Half a pump should be plenty for a single use – take care when pushing the pump down as it gives out a LOT of product if you do a whole pump! £47 30ml

The Body Shop Glow Boosting Moisturiser* – this lightweight moisturiser is packed full of vitamin C and is great for reviving tired or dull skin. It’s perfect for oilier skin types as it has a gel-like texture to it and absorbs into the skin really quickly. Slap this on in the mornings for more refreshed, awake looking skin. If you have drier skin, I’d recommend adding a layer of hydrating serum underneath as this might be a little light used on its own. I think this is a fantastic summer product as it doesn’t overload the skin. The fact that it smells amazing is also an added bonus! If you’ve been hunting around for a dupe to Origins Gin-Zing moisturiser, then I think this will be a great alternative buy.  £16 50ml
