Bourjois Color Edition 24H eye shadow review

Bourjois have had what I can only describe as a run of excellent launches lately. From their colour adapting blusher to super sparkly nail polishes, I've nearly broken my spending ban several times after looking at their shelves!

The highlight of the new launches for me is the range of Color Edition 24H eye shadows*. These offer a cream to powder formula and are designed to last up to 24 hours without budging. They remind me a lot of Maybelline's Colour Tattoos, and the Dior/Chanel recent cream shadow launches.

The range consists of 6 shades, with a variety of colours from soft champagne pink to deep navy blue. I've been testing out 3 of the shadows: 02 Or Desir - gold, 03 Petal de Glace - soft pink champagne and 05 Prune Nocturne - dark burgundy with flecks of gold.

The shadows look highly pigmented in the pot, however do apply a little more sheer that you would expect. I quite like this, as it means that you can build up colour very easily, and also blend the shadows together to create a customised shade. I've been using my Real Techniques eye brushes to apply these shadows, but for a bolder colour, you could use your fingers, and still get a lovely effect.

All of the shadows have metallic pigments inside, which give a lovely shimmery look once applied. There's no horrible large chunks of glitter though, so don't panic about looking like a disco ball. I also didn't experience any fallout from these shadows at all, and they really do stay put all day until you're ready to remove them.

I love these shadows and after my spending ban can see myself buying the rest of the collection. At £6.99, they've impressed me a lot more than the £20+ Dior shadow I bought a couple of months ago, and I would highly recommend buying these over more expensive alternatives.

You can find the whole range of Color Edition 24H shadows from Boots and Superdrug. What do you think of these shadows?

  6. Bourjois has certainly had an amazing year in terms of quality releases. I bought the olive shade of these recently, but haven't had a chance to try it yet - although I'm very excited about it and of course to compare it with Maybelline Color tattoo :O) Xx

  10. These look really smooth in your swatches! I would love to try these as I found some of the Maybelline Colour Tattoos a little chunky. Hopefully they land in Australia soon ;)
