Top photo shows swatches for shades one and two and the bottom photo is shades three and four |
Each one features both a contour shade and a highlighter in a double-ended wand format. There are eight shades in the line, starting at Taupe Ivory which is the shade I'm currently using, going right up to Espresso Honey which will work for very deep skin tones.
Both the contour and highlight are cream formula and are surprisingly pigmented; a few dots added where you need to sculpt and a few more for highlighting and you're all ready to blend. DO NOT just swipe this stuff on straight from the wand – you’ll end up with a giant stripe down your face that is impossible to blend out. I know, because I tried. It really only needs a smidge to get those cheekbones you’ve always wanted.
I've found that the contour shade especially benefits from a blending brush rather than doing this with your fingers - it stops it spreading out to far and potentially giving you a muddy-looking face. The highlighter however, works really well when used with your fingers and gives skin that dewy looking finish that gently catches the light.
Cream products often have a tendency to wear off quicker than some powers, but I got a good ten hours out of these before I noticed any fading. If you have very oily cheeks then a *tiny* bit of translucent powder over the contour shade will stop it slipping, but try to avoid any on the highlighter or you’ll lose the beautiful glow it gives the skin.
These are a bit of a bargain at £9 each and have just launched onto the Boots website.
